Olivia Wirth & Paul Howes wedding at Byron Bay

Over the weekend I was beyond honored to be part of Olivia Wirth and Paul Howes wedding.
Last Friday I was flying up to Byron Bay to work at Deux Belettes; a spectacular french chateau in the Byron Hinterland (owned by the talented and ever-so-accomodating Sharon and Ross).

A big thank you to Sarah Lovell - Lovell Management for having me on her team!

The biggest names in Australian politics, business and entertainment have come together for the wedding of former Australian Workers Union boss and Labor heavyweight Paul Howes and Qantas executive Olivia Wirth.

Among the guests at the A-list wedding near Byron Bay on Saturday were some of Federal Labor's biggest past and present names, including former Prime Minister Julia Gillard, Opposition Leader Bill Shorten and former treasurer and current MP Wayne Swan - all friends of Mr Howes.

The bride and groom have a beautiful eye for detail so the celebration of their marriage ensured that too; each table setting had a ceramic name tag with the couple’s personalised font on each, hanging from the Bentwood reception chairs.

A personal touch for the groom was sharing his love of vintage world maps. The guest book was an original touch as an antique globe. (And yes, when honoured guest Julia Gillard was the first to sign the globe we definitely had a proud internal cartwheel moment).

But we’ll let the photos (mostly from iPhone until the real deal arrives) & video teaser do the rest of the talking. We hope you enjoy. We could talk for days about the beautiful styling and ambience of the wedding, however it was the love – and the celebration of that love – between the couple that really shone. Congratulations, and many happy years ahead, Paul and Liv.

Sydney Opera House 40th Anniversary Concert

40TH BIRTHDAY_TILES_event_EDM 570x320.jpg

It was an honor to be part of the 40th SOH Anniversary Concert yesterday. What an exceptional line-up of artists, including Deborah Mailman, Baz Luhrmann, Sarah Blasko, John Butler, Megan Washington, Paul Grabowsky and members of the Wharf Revue. The Concert closed with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra performing the work that opened the Opera House in October 1973, Beethoven’s 9th Symphony, featuring soloists from Opera Australia and the vocal heft of the Sydney Philharmonia Choirs. Actor Deborah Mailman was master of ceremonies at the twilight concert. Special guest Princess Mary and Prince Frederik.

I had the pleasure to work with Deborah Mailman, Sarah Blasko, Megan Washington and members of the Wharf Revue.
